What’s your favourite thing about your job?

When I am teaching a concept, the lightbulb goes on in a student’s eyes and they see the relevance or purpose to the lesson.

Which day of the school year is your favourite, and why? (ie, a specific project, orientation)

We do a simulation project in the Entrepreneurship and Business Planning Module that has the students competing in teams with each other. The students have to make choices and strategies that will build their business over 6 -8 periods. Watching them work together and having a friendly competition is a great experience. Plus, they learn how important it is to watch the market and how certain decisions will affect their businesses.

What would you recommend to someone coming to MBC? (either your program or the school)

I recommend they use this time to invest in themselves and really soak up the information. To be ready for the industry they need to form good work habits and determine how they will sustain a work/life balance. The time spent here is the best practice run for that.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?

Carpentry – I always come up with ideas to build things but just don’t know how to do it.

Do you have a favourite quote?

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending” -C.S. Lewis.  This quote speaks to me because I think it’s never too late to switch direction and go for what you really want.

What are two of your favourite snacks?

Chocolate and Chocolate
