Law Enforcement Foundations

The daily duties of this professional may vary from day to day, but the primary responsibility of individuals in this field is to pursue and apprehend individuals who break the law and then issue citations or give warnings. Most officers patrol their jurisdictions and investigate any suspicious activity they notice. They also respond to calls from individuals and also write reports/accounts of their activities.

Security Guards patrol, observe, protect and report. Most Security assignments will require either a patrol or static position. The primary objective of a Security Guard is to deter criminal activity on the premises where they are working. A security guard may also interview witnesses or victims, prepare case reports, and testify in court.
